Team Aims and Objectives
Sussex County Junior Badminton, formerly known as SSBA - Sussex Schools Badminton Association, was formed in 1967 with the sole aim to encourage the development of Badminton in Sussex amongst boys and girls through competitions, coaching and matches. It is affiliated to Badminton England, the sport's governing Body in England, and is a Sub-Committee of Sussex County Badminton Association.
Sussex County Junior Badminton is a non-profit making entity, run and organised by a group of highly motivated volunteers who all share one thing in common: the love for the game of Badminton and a desire to provide young people the opportunity to play the game. Any excess of income over expenditure is retained and utilized for the future benefit of the sport in Sussex.
Sussex County Junior Badminton runs squads for young players from Under-11 up to Under-21 years of age with Teams representing the County in formal competitions. It also runs several tournaments and regular coaching for its players
Badminton has thrived in Sussex since the formation of SCJB with many players reaching International standard and even Olympic medalist status. We aim to develop the sport in Sussex for future generations.
